One thing I’ve been meaning to do for the longest time is share ALL of the pictures from any given session. I know I post a lot of “highlights” here, but the truth is… my goal is that every picture from your session is a highlight! I thought it would be fun to show those of you who’ve never had a session just how sweet a final gallery should be… : )
If you’ve taken any of my classes, you already know that I’m pretty shameless about how many images I capture during each session. When a typical session is finished, I can easily have anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand images, at which point the hardest part of the entire process begins. If you think you’ve got it bad deciding which prints to order, let me tell you… it can be crazy-tough choosing which of the images from a session make the “final cut” after it’s all wrapped up. Choosing the final images, I do believe, is a matter of the heart, and it often takes me just as long to simply pick the “top 40″ as it does to shoot a typical session. My family will attest to the fact that I’m often giggling and/or sighing as I flip back and forth between images on my Mac… it’s quite a process and I tend to get quite lost in it!
In choosing your final images, I carefully review each of the hundreds of photos from the perspective of 1) a mom, 2) a photographer, and 3) an amateur historian… Which pictures will touch the hearts of these children’s parents? Which images convey the message that I’m hoping to send from an artistic and technically sound standpoint? Which images will be treasured by these children’s children, generations from now? In a nutshell, choosing your final images is no small task, and I take the process quite seriously for each and every session…
So! Enough yapping! Today was a day of Sweetie Sessions, and I decided to get one of those sessions completely uploaded, picked, edited, and converted for you guys to see! Sweetie Sessions are our less expensive option, they last for 25 minutes at a set location, and they result in 15 final images (in both color and black-and-white). Without further adieu, take a peek at an entire Sweetie Session from this afternoon, featuring the fabulous Miss “S”:
(a quick note… the final gallery has the color and black-and-white of each image, but I was trying not to be too repetitive, so I just chose one…)

And, finally, for anyone who doesn’t think that 15 images is enough to do much with…

Let’s all give Pottery Barn a BIG round of applause for being so perfectly adorable!
How fun would these be on the wall?!?!? : )
LOVE!

Julie - Gorgeous session, Amy! I cannot believe how photogenic that little sweetie is. Which lens did you use for the pics by the tree? 85mm?
