We needed rain so badly, I know. And normally I actually like rain. But did it have to come RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PEAK AUTUMN COLOR?!? (just wondering) Regardless, a few were brave enough to risk it today, and there were some pretty amazing shots, even though it was sloppy and wet out there…
I basically adore these three. They’re great kids with great parents… easygoing, energetic, and just plain fun! : )
Hi! Happy fall!!! Things have been BUSY around here, which is actually a severe understatement. : ) The leaves are reaching their peak and we’ve been taking advantage of it like crazy. The poor studio… it’s barely seen a soul these past few weeks! Here are a few from a little shoot a few weeks ago, before everything started to go “autumn”… what a love this little guy was!!!
How I wish I could write more in the fall… I feel like it’s the time that I’m the most inspired, but it’s also a season that I have very little time to write down my thoughts. So… they’ll be swirling around in my head for a few more weeks. Enjoy this beautiful day!!!

Do you know how good you would feel to have your holiday cards DONE by November 1st? Just sayin’. : ) Last night I had the honor of capturing my sweet cousin and her fiancé’s engagement pictures. We had an amazing time. The sun was low in the sky, the location was truly stunning, and this young couple shone as brightly as the fiery yellow on the trees that surrounded us. It was one of those “magic” sessions… They’re both big-time readers, so they had pulled out some old books to bring along to the session. My favorite of the books they brought was one called “The Simple Life”. It reminded me of that old Shaker hymn, “Simple Gifts”. Do you know that one? It’s about being simple, being humble, and finding happiness in the small, sweet things of life.
Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free,
’tis a gift to come down where we ought to be. And when we find ourselves in the place just right, twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gained, To bow and to bend we shan’t be ashamed,
To turn, turn, will be our delight,
Till by turning, turning, we come ’round right. Congrats to a couple who is well on their way to a very beautiful life… : )
