Tuesday Sweethearts…

First of all… your comments have made me smile all day!  I can’t thank you all enough for your well-wishes!  You’re all so special to me and your sweet words meant so much. : )

Now, onto business…

Today was a full day packed with some of the sweetest kiddos you’ll ever meet.  I began the day in New Lenox (first time I’d been there!) to capture a little guy on his third birthday and his little three-month-old brother.  I was so honored to be a part of this three-year-old’s special day!

This final shot took some very creative thinking, which I cannot take an ounce of credit for!  Their mom was behind-the-scenes on this one, big time!

This afternoon, another little three-month-old came in for a visit to the studio.  This little sweetie was all girl, and quite in-love with her little feet.  So was I, by the way… aren’t you? : )

Sweet Boy

My last session on Monday was with a little one-year-old who had the biggest, cutest smiles for the camera.  He was such a good boy!  Most sessions aren’t this “easy”- and don’t get me wrong… I really love the challenge of winning little ones over.  It was just a blast to have a little boy who seemed to know 1) why he was here, and 2) how to put the cheese on for me. : )  Ha!

His big brother came along to watch, so at the end I asked if he might want to jump in for a “brother shot.”  His mom mentioned that their outfits didn’t match at all.  The beauty of little ones?  Skin always matches! : )

Double Perfection…

It’s been awhile since I’ve had the joy of photographing twinsies, since they seem to come in streaks for me.  Monday was my lucky day, though, because I was able to capture the “P” twins… two of the sweetest, blue-est eyed twins around!  I just know that these pictures will make you smile, because these girls are just that cute!

*little note:  I always try to do a few in color and a few in black-and-white, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it with these!

And The Winner Is…

Maggie!

I’ll e-mail you personally and pop the card in the mail to you tomorrow morning… congrats to you, happy shopping, and thank you ALL for your comments!  If nothing else, it was fun to hear from so many of you these past few days!  We’ll have to do something like this again soon… (like, tomorrow… I’ll be giving away two sessions this month in a random drawing for all of the blog’s subscribers!)

Yesterday was a fun day behind the camera!  I began the day in Bartlett, although it was close to a miracle that I got there at all!  My phone’s battery died (I mean, it really died… it wouldn’t charge at all, even on my car charger!) and my GPS couldn’t find the street that I was going to!  I ended up doing the old-fashioned thing… I stopped at a gas station in Bartlett to find a map.  A real paper one that you have to look up the streets alphabetically on.  But the street wasn’t on this map either (gee, thanks, Rand McNally…), so I decided to be utterly resourceful and use the payphone.  Some of you are probably laughing right now, because you already know what comes next… the gas station didn’t have a payphone!  I’m not gonna lie… I felt old.  Ironically, an elderly man overheard my struggle and let me use his cellphone to call and get directions from where I was.  Sometimes things are just harder than they should be, ya know?

Well, let me just tell you… it was all worth it to meet this little pumpkin!  He was such an easygoing guy and we had lots of fun:

Isn’t he so adorable?  I could have just eaten him up! : )

Ok… a few things to mention before we get rolling here…

It occurred to me that if you receive the e-mail updates to the blog, then you might not have actually seen the new blog yet… have you all gone to the actual blog yet?  If not, click here to check it out.  If you have, forgive me for my continued excitement. : )

I had mentioned that this weekend was full of amazingly cool opportunities for sessions, and my last one on Saturday was no exception.  The “P” family invited me to their downtown highrise home, overlooking the city and beautiful Navy Pier, to capture their two adorable sons.  Take a look at these cuties:

On Sunday afternoon I had a bittersweet session with a beautiful family of four whose daddy was on a short leave from the Navy for the birth of their son.  It was my joy to capture their beautiful little girl and new baby boy, as well as the family together.  Best wishes to all of them as they part for again for a time… may these photos bring joy to bridge the distance…
