Abundant Sunshine

Today when I checked the weather on weather.com, the words that described the day were “abundant sunshine.”  It was so true!  Even though it wasn’t *quite* as warm as it has been the past few days, I was just loving the streams of sunlight peeking through my windows.  Happy, happy, happy!

Speaking of abundant sunshine, we’ve been going outside more and more lately!  There’s a park close to my home that a family & I visited the other evening, just before sunset.  Isn’t this gal sweet?

We made spring appear with a dozen yellow tulips (and a little help from Photoshop!).  Funny how those will make all the difference! : )

Her baby brother was doing some pretty adorable things in the studio:

Here’s another scale shot….  Have I told you guys about this scale?  My great-grandfather was a physician in Hinsdale… his office was run out of his basement in the early 1900s, which was professionally set up with a number of different patient rooms.  As a girl, my sisters, cousins, and I absolutely LOVED playing down there, since it was also the home of my grandparents.  Anyway… he delivered many, many babies, which were weighed on this very scale:

Isn’t that the coolest thing?!?

I loved this shot:

A little bit later that evening the coolest family came to the studio for some shots of their 8 week old twin boys and their big (7 year old!) brother.  They were adorable!!!

One asleep…

And one awake…

And the prize for the awesome-est big brother goes to… : )

(And yes, I know that “awesome-est” isn’t really a word.  But it SO applies!!!)

*** Tomorrow I’ll be giving away the free monthly session… sorry I’m a few days late on that!

Yet another newborn (boy!)

Two things to note… First- there is a MAJOR baby boom going on right now!  Second- they’re almost ALL baby boys!  Every time I meet another little baby boy I just laugh.  That’s the way it goes sometimes! : )

This morning I was down in Mokena visiting little “C” and his newborn baby brother.  They were really sweet boys!

Aren’t they adorable? : )  We had fun!

The Ice Cream Won…

Every now and then, I have a little standoff with ice cream.  We stare at each other through the open freezer door, just waiting to see who will triumph.  Most days I’m able to walk away as the winner of this little battle, but this afternoon that sweet tub of frozen chocolate dairy jumped out at me and landed in my hands.  What was I to do?  The kids and I took a little break from the healthy life and indulged…

Note… I get that same “dazed-and-crazy” look when I eat chocolate ice cream, too.  I just don’t wear it all over myself. : )

Now onto more serious business… like cute, clean-faced children:

I’ve got three more newborns to show you!  Let’s begin with this sweet little girl and her big sis:

A couple of cuties, wouldn’t you agree?

Later, this sweet pair of twins came into the studio for some sweet shots:

Now for some big kids!

These three had me to their beautiful house on Tuesday for some portraits, and they were really, really adorable.  Amazing eyes..

Aren’t there some beautiful babies and children out there?  How do they all end up in front of my camera?!? : )

100 Robins : )

Every spring I count robins.  I really don’t know why I started, but I do know that I’ve been doing it since I was a little girl.  There’s nothing that says “Spring is almost here!” like looking out your window and seeing a puffy, red, beautiful robin hopping around in the grass.  So I count the first 100 robins that I see every single year, and guess what?  I’ve already seen 8!!!  Now that’s hopeful!!!

Other hopeful things?  Newborns!!!  I’d absolutely LOVE to know what exactly was going on nine months ago, because I have had a huge number of newborns lately!  And, as you may guess, newborns are such a special treat for me.  Here are three precious babes that have come in within the past few days:

Let’s begin with another one of my “practice babies”… Couldn’t you just eat him up?  Oh my goodness…

What a peaceful little guy!

Now, this little man came into the studio the other evening with only one job to do: snuggle up and be completely adorable.  He was a champ!

This little guy invited me to his home the other morning!  He was not about to fall asleep for me… but his mom and I waited him out!  When he finally konked, I told him to remember that in a standoff… mommies always win! : )

One more little sneak peek…

I had a group of cousins come in the other day for some pictures together, ages 10 months to 15 years.  We had fun!

Cuties Everywhere!

Hello all!  This was a crazy, rainy weekend here in Chicago and I’m really hoping that all of your basements are in good shape!  I had lots of fun shoots this weekend and can’t wait to share them all with you.  Let’s begin with this Friday, shall we?

I’ve had the total pleasure of photographing this little guy all through his first year, and this was his one-year shoot!  Sniff, sniff!  Why do these babies keep growing up on me?!?

His big sister popped in for some fun pictures, too!

Remember when I did that little casting call for newborns?  Well, I had my first one come into the studio on Friday, and he had a super willing, totally flexible mom (this was her 3rd!).  We had fun hanging around together! : )

Here are his two beautiful sisters:

Saturday morning I had some gorgeous sisters come into the studio for some portraits.  Don’t you just love them?!?

Now, this was hilarious… we (Mom, Dad, and I) had them sitting on the chairs, trying to get a good shot, and we were giving them anything (anything!) to make them happy and ready for a sibling shoot.  Now, what do most little girls absolutely LOVE these days?  You guessed it… cell phones!  Watch out, Mom and Dad… I think you guys are gonna need to enlarge your cell plan pretty soon! : )

Saturday began as a sister day!  I had another pair of sisters come in after that for some pictures… they were absolutely beautiful and took some great pictures:

Don’t you just love those teeth?  (Or lack thereof?!?) : )

Their mom’s pregnant and expecting twins this summer!  We had some fun with that…

So there you go!  More sneakers coming tomorrow!
