Do you know just how many things I think of, all day long, that I want to write about on this blog?   There’s always SO much to say!  So humor me for a moment, will you, and let me share a few of my random musings with you…

1.  Have you all seen Julie and Julia?  If you haven’t, you should!  I recently saw it and it inspired me to cook wonderful things for days.  With butter. : )

2.  My beautiful six month old is crawling now.  It’s awesome, but there’s just one little problem… she can only go backwards.  I mean, she can REALLY only go backwards.  She made her way through the entire family room and kitchen yesterday trying to get a toy, and she got farther and farther with each little scoot.  It’s adorable.  I wish it would last forever!

3. The other day during a session I looked out the window and saw the most beautiful thing… a flock of geese flying NORTH.  You Chicago-ins know what that means, don’t you?!?  : )

4. I love my studio.  LOVE my studio.  LOVE LOVE LOVE my studio. : )

5. A dear friend took me shopping the other night (she has an impeccable sense of style… I, on the other hand, have a very strong desire to have an impeccable sense of style) and she made me try on about a million things that I never would have if I had gone alone.  Have you ever done that?  It was totally enlightening.  I spent more on jeans than I ever have in my life, and to be quite honest… they are AMAZING!!! : )  The huge amount teeny bit of guilt I had as I paid for them has all but disappeared into thin air.  YAY new jeans!

WOW there’s just so much to say!  I should do that more often… that felt great!

On to adorable babies…

There aren’t many “sure things” in this life.  But here’s one of them:

If a little baby points it’s little tush up at me, I will take a picture of it.  Every time. : )

These two almost knocked me over with their stunning eyes and beautiful looks.  They did this to me the last time, too.  Cuties!!!

SO many 6 month olds lately!  They’re all doing the same adorable things… like grabbing their toes! : )

I LOVE this little man!  I’ve been photographing him since he was in his beautiful mama’s tummy, and look at him now!

This little dude was such an acrobat!  Do you know how much he weighed when he was born?  One pound.  ONE.

And you’d never know it.  And I love that. : )

How excited was I this morning to check my e-mail and see the NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photography) February newsletter in my inbox… with our business in the member spotlight!!!  It’s a fantastic organization and (for you photographers out there) a great community to be a part of.  What an honor! : )

Happy Valentine’s day to all of you!

Call me crazy, but… spring is in the air!  At least, it’s in the air at Target. : )  Have you notice all the flip flops for sale?!?  Chicago winters are long, cold, snowy, and insanity-inducing… at least at the Tripple house.  But I’m pretty sure I’ve heard a bird or two these past few days, and I’m noticing the sunlight sticking around for a few more minutes as the weeks pass.  I’ve started dreaming of sitting on the back deck, watching my crazy energy-filled babies run around in the back yard.  Happy thoughts.

More happy thoughts are the beautiful babies I’ve seen here at the studio lately.  Can’t wait to show them to you… each one made me smile or laugh for their own wonderful reasons.  Take a peek:

This little guy and I had something pretty cool in common…

We both adore my green couch and white stuffed bunny. : )  This little boy just tickled me!

I have absolutely adored photographing this sweetheart since he was a teeny little baby.  And now look at him!!!  I love how much he loves his blankie… sure wish my kids had picked things half this cute to be attached to!!!

Now talk about an honor.  This beautiful girl drove down with her wonderful mom and dad from Cascade, WI.  I mapquested it… 140 miles!  Needless to say, it was a very special session.  She’s a DOLL baby!!!

So classic!

The last one for today… more twinsies!  They were absolutely wonderful babies.  Full of life, LOTS of smiles!

Adorable!!!

As I sit in my studio between sessions, some precious words are flooding back into my mind like the sun through these gorgeous windows.  A woman that is very close to my heart offered her take on my fledgling photography business a number of years ago.  She said to me, “Someday, when you’re sitting in your studio and the sunlight is streaming through the windows…”  I hardly heard the rest of what she said… it was the when that stopped me in my tracks.  She believed in something I hadn’t even dared to hope for.  And here I sit.  bewildered. grateful. humbled. encouraged.

She offered me such a gift by predicting this very moment, and (though I’m sure she may not even recall the conversation) it has meant so much to me along the way.  It’s funny how the little things we say to encourage those around us may just be a tipping point in their lives.  As the sun streams through, I am reminded to be an encouragement to others… my husband, children, friends, those around me.  Kind words are gifts of the heart.

I’ve had some beautiful babies here at the studio lately.  Beautiful.  This little family had a little girl just a teeny bit older than my little one.  I was inspired to get her over here for more shots!!! : )

This sweet family has had me do shots for their little one’s entire first year.  It’s been SO fun to watch him grow.  They are a wonderful family!

Eyes!

I LOVED this little newborn boy!!!  He was nearly 10 pounds at our session, and such a sleeper!  What an easygoing doll.

He has a beautiful mamma:

Jumping down on the scale, this little newborn was only about 5 pounds!  It was so funny to have these two sweeties back-to-back.  This little guy was a fantastic sleeper!!!

One thing that I love doing is shoots for modeling portfolios.  This little dude had it going on.  He was such a great kid!

And lastly, here’s another lovely little newborn boy… I’ve been a bit into these circle collages lately.  Aren’t they fun?  This little guy was such a cutie, and his parents were extra-fun to hang out with.  The showed me a bit of technology that I’m REALLY hoping to get for my birthday coming up, since it happens to be a big one.  Hint, hint Jonathan. : )
