Hellooooo Spring!!! | Downers Grove Children’s Photographer

Yes, we’re making progress on our robin count. : )  YAY robins!!!  Have you heard them singing?

I love finding beauty in things, which is probably one of the reasons that I love this “job” so much… I have this incredible opportunity to look inside children’s eyes and search for the beauty in them, then *click!*… I snatch it with my camera, to be kept forever.  Cool, cool, cool.

Speaking of cool, have you ever had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends?  That’s exactly what I got to do the other day… and now they have kids!!!  (aren’t they beautiful?!?)

This darling girl came into the studio the other day as well.  I loved her… she was sweet as candy, but fun to boot!

This is the second time I’ve photographed this little darling.  I think I could photograph her about 1000 more times before I would ever get tired of it.  She could have honestly stayed ALL DAY…

And THIS little gal… well, the last time I saw her she was the teeniest, sleepiest little peanut… only a few days old!  I love seeing the change from newborn to one-year-old!!!

I’ve decided to start blogging my maternity shoots a bit more.  They’re so beautiful, after all.  I love seeing moms and dads with that amazing glow.  So much promise…

(aren’t they CUTE?!?)

Now, if you don’t recognize this little face, then you just haven’t been paying attention these past few years.  I think he’s one of my most frequent visitors!

And now his handsome little brother!!!

This peanut came in for a make-up sweetie session the other day.  Her smile is just about as big as her face.  It just tickles me!!!

This girl had such a fun shoot.  She’s such a busy-bee… moving, moving, moving!  But, like most children, did pause for a bit to look out the window. : )

More beautiful maternity portraits… I can’t WAIT for this baby to be born!!!

Um… can we say “gorgeous”?!?

And last but not least, this little dude brought in his mom and dad for some family pictures.  He was adorable.

(did I mention that he was adorable?!?) : )

And finally, for those of you who actually made it to the bottom of this post!!!

I mentioned the other day that I’ve gotten myself into sewing a bit.  Like I need one more thing to do. : )  But, ever inspired by the fabulous Maggie Massey, I decided to buy some patterns, fabric, and thread… and I gave it a whirl!!!  I’ve been going a little crazy with it (and poor Jonathan will gladly tell you!), and came away from a little sewing spurt the other day with matching p.j. pants for my girls and I.  OH MY GOSH we felt so cute!!!  (don’t look too close, though!!!) : )

Baby Love… | Downers Grove Baby Photographer

I’ve had a big wave of newborns come through lately, and I’ve loved every second of it.  One of my favorite things about capturing newborns is watching their parents… especially the “first-timers.”  Do you remember, all you experienced parents out there, the wonder and joy and exhaustion and bewilderment and overpowering emotion of those first few weeks of parenthood?  One of the major perks of my job is getting to connect with parents who are right-smack-dab in the middle of that tender time.  It takes me back to my first weeks with our first baby; the wonder of becoming a parent floods over me like it happened yesterday.

So, wanna take a peek?  : )

LOOK at this beautiful girl!  The hair, OH the hair!  I wanted to take her home with me…

LOVED this shot…

And this one. : )

This sweet baby came in with her mom and dad and just tickled me pink.  She was SO girly! : )

I LOVE this family… they’ve been loyal clients for a couple of years now, and I’ve been so overjoyed to watch their family grow…

Their little peanut has gotten SO big this year!!! : )

Alright, let’s have a little chat about Pottery Barn, shall we?  Why is everything that they make so darn amazing?!?  These adorable boys’ mom picked up the new PB number pillows for their shoot, because the boys were turning one and four.  The shots were so cute!!!  {Want to check them out?  Click here }

Another newborn… *happy sigh*…  WHAT a sweetie!!!

I’m such a huge fan of babies in baskets.  It just sounds cute!

Well, hellooooooo mister happy!!!  This guy just tickled me pink for his entire session… I LOVED him!!!

And there you have it!  Some totally sweet kids that made me smile. Hope they gave you a little grin, too. : )

Today | Downers Grove Children’s Photographer

Today.

Today I count my blessings.

Today I look forward.

Today I dream a little, reflect a little,

Laugh a little. Hum a little.

Today I remember just how sweet it’s been up to now.

And how comforting it is to have a family so loving.

Today I love my children wholeheartedly.

I grow each day.

Today.

Today I turn to God with all my heart.

I think of the lessons I’ve learned.

Of the lessons I have yet to stumble into.

Of the joys I’ve had.

Of the deepness I have yet to taste.

Today is a day of peace.

Today is a day of commitment.

Today is a day that my heart pushes forward into the great chasm of

What Lies Ahead.

Today I am thirty. : )

Yes, it’s true… my big three-oh!!!  And I’ve got to tell you, I couldn’t be happier about it if I wanted to be.

Enough with the crazy twenties, I’m movin’ on up!

Now onto some cutie patooties!  I’ve had requests from some of you for more examples of the “add on” color finishes.  So I thought I’d use some of the extra finishes in my sneak peeks now and then, and note which finish was used on each picture.  These are the beautiful babies and children that graced my studio on my most recent sweetie session day…

Tomorrow’s the Day!!! | Downers Grove Children’s Photographer

Tomorrow morning.  7 a.m.  You.  Your computer.  BOOKING DAY!!! : )

I love booking days!  You should know that Jonathan and I always get up extra-early, brew coffee, and sit at the kitchen table with our laptops open as we watch for all of your sweet names to come through our online scheduling system.  We say things like, “YAY!  The Fallaras booked!”… “Oh look… the Masseys!”… “Horray for the Witts!!!”  I’m not kidding… it’s like a little party as we begin to anticipate all of the sweet kids and new families that we’ll be working with over the course of the coming months.  It’s absolutely, positively one of my favorite days of each season…. just thought you should know what booking day looks like at the Tripple house. : )  Cheesy?  Maybe a little.  But SO darn fun!!!

One thing I forgot to note the other day… the sweetie session locations!!!  Here they are for those of you who are interested:

Can’t wait to “see” you guys tomorrow!  Thanks a million for being the greatest clients a girl could have. : )

Spring & Summer Sessions Announced!!! | Chicago Children’s Photographer

I am one excited girl today!  Know why?  It’s time to think about summer!!! We’re announcing all of our May – August sessions and workshops today so that you have a bit of time to check your calendars and get ready for booking day.  The spring and summer schedule will officially open on March 2 at 7:00 a.m. (Tuesday!!!), so mark your calendars! : )

I’m totally tickled to introduce a few “add-on” options to this upcoming group of sessions:

1. Extra Location {$100}

The wild popularity of the studio has been the impetus for our first “add-on” option. : )  So many of you want to see your little sweeties photographed in our studio space with all of the cutie-patootie toys, big picture window, green couch, etc… that we’ve decided to try to accommodate families that want to do the studio and a nearby outdoor location.  For $100, we’ll begin the session in our Downers Grove studio, then move to one of my three favorite outdoor locations (you’ll choose from my three options).  Included in the fee is an additional 10-15 images.  Please e-mail us after you’ve booked your session to let us know that you’d like the extra location add-on so that we can plan accordingly.

2.  Additional Finish Options  {$25 per set, $100 for all 6}

I’m SUPER excited about this one!!!  There are endless possibilities in photo editing, and I’ve always enjoyed playing around with various finishes.  Over the past few years, I’ve come up with a number of favorite color conversions that I tend to use to take my own family’s pictures to the “next level”.  I’ve put together my six favorites and have decided to offer them as “add-on” options to the basic color / black-and-white editing that’s included in every session.  Each set is $25, or you can have all six of them for $100.  The color versions of your images will be included in your online gallery and on your CD, along with full printing rights (of course!).  Check out the options by clicking here:

{Finish Options}

AND (here’s the fun part!)… I can do them for any session, future or past.  To request a set of a one (or more!) of these color finishes, visit our client proofing site at www.amytripplephotography.com/clients, and look for them within your personal gallery.

Ok, onto what you’ve all been waiting for!  Here are the sessions that we’ll be offering this spring and summer.  I am SO excited!

After all that talking, I should probably call it a day in the world of blogging.  But it’s impossible not to show you pictures. : )

This beautiful girl is six months old, and I had the honor of shooting her as a newborn as well.  She is BEAUTIFUL.

I want their bedspread.  I mean, I REALLY want their bedspread.  It was so pretty!  Good old Pottery Barn.

Loved this expression… checkin’ herself out!!!

This little girl has grown quite a bit since our last session as well…  One major change since last time- she’s growing hair!  Go, “D” go! : )

This guy came in the other evening, brought his baby sister, and charmed me to pieces.

{so did his sister} : )

The were SO sweet with each other!!!
